Lorna Cain is a Clinical Research Fellow at NHS Blood and Transplant Oxford and a DPhil (PhD) student at the University of Oxford. She is affiliated with St Hugh's College and part of the Murphy, Roberts and Stanworth Group: Oxford Clinical Research in Transfusion Medicine.
Education and Qualifications:
- MBChB (Hons) and BMedSc (Hons) from the University of Birmingham
- Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) since 2014
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) in Haematology (2021)
Research Focus: Her work centers on transfusion medicine, particularly the development of new blood components and health economic evaluation. She contributes to the NHSBT Universal Components team, evaluating a novel Universal Platelet component.
