She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Florida, alongside a Graduate Certificate in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Bracewell’s work bridges academic and public discourse, appearing in prestigious journals like Signs and Contemporary Political Theory, as well as popular outlets such as The Washington Post and Boston Review. Her book Why We Lost the Sex Wars: Sexual Freedom in the #MeToo Era (2021) reinterprets the feminist sexuality debates of the 1970s–90s through a liberal political framework. Recent projects include analyses of far-right gender politics, strategic maternalism, and queer survival narratives.
Her teaching and scholarship emphasize interdisciplinary approaches, integrating historical analysis with contemporary social movements. She currently serves as Program Coordinator for Flagler’s Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program, fostering undergraduate engagement with intersectional feminism and LGBTQ+ studies.
