Rose Owen is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Politics at The New School for Social Research. Her research explores the intersection of feminist theory, violence, and social movements, with a focus on mid-20th century activism. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Chicago and a BA from Wellesley College. Her work has been supported by the Mellon Foundation and the University of Chicago's Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality.
Her recent publications analyze feminist uses of violence, including a reevaluation of Valerie Solanas' contributions and critical examinations of the #MeToo movement. She teaches courses such as Feminist Political Thought and Politics of Reproductive Justice.
