Lori Watumull

Lori Watumull, M.D., FACR, is a Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Abdominal Imaging Division. She specializes in CT and ultrasound evaluation of the abdomen and pelvis, with a focus on cancer imaging and diagnosis, as well as image-guided biopsy procedures and drainage interventions.

Education:

• Bachelor’s in Zoology from Texas A&M University
• Medical Degree from UT Southwestern
• Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at UT Southwestern
• Fellowship in Body Imaging at UT Southwestern

Research Interests: Cancer diagnosis and treatment, particularly breast, kidney, lung, and prostate cancers. Her work has led to over 20 peer-reviewed publications and international conference presentations.

Administrative Roles: Chair of the Abdominal Imaging CT Angiography (CTA) Protocol/Template Committee, Fluoroscopic Imaging Protocol Committee, and delegate to the Ultrasound Operations Committee. Active on numerous Radiology Department committees, including Quality Assurance, CT Dose Reduction Review, and Residency Curriculum. Also serves on the Lung Cancer Screening Program Committee and Kidney Cancer Program committees.

Professional Affiliations: Member of the Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, Society of Abdominal Radiology, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, Texas Medical Association, and Dallas County Medical Society.
