Julie Champine

Julie Champine, M.D., is a Professor of Radiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She holds multiple leadership roles, including Interim Vice Chair of Education and Program Director of the Abdominal Imaging Fellowship. She is affiliated with the Abdominal Imaging Division and contributes to CAARE committees and the Pancreatic Cancer Tumor Board. Her clinical expertise spans genitourinary radiology, contrast media, and information technology.

Education: She earned her pre-med degree from Texas A&M University, a medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, and completed radiology residency and MRI fellowship at UT Southwestern.

Research focuses on abdominal imaging, Doppler ultrasound, and interventional procedures. She has contributed to numerous publications and textbooks. Her dedication to education has earned her multiple Outstanding Teacher Awards.

She actively participates in committees like the Radiology Residency Curriculum Committee and leads educational initiatives such as the Radiologic Anatomy course. Her professional memberships include the Society of Abdominal Radiology and the American Roentgen Ray Society.
