Vasantha Vasan

Vasantha Vasan, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, affiliated with its Medical School and Radiology Department. She leads initiatives in computed tomography (CT) colonoscopy, enterography, and minimal prep CT colonography protocols. Dr. Vasan's clinical expertise focuses on bowel pathology, and she actively contributes to imaging protocol development, patient education materials, and quality assurance efforts.

Her educational background includes a medical degree from Mysore Medical College (India), diagnostic radiology residency at Georgetown University Hospital (serving as Chief Resident), and a body imaging fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Prior to UT Southwestern, she practiced in private radiology.

Dr. Vasan chairs UT Southwestern's Virtual Colonoscopy Committee and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Committee. She is a member of professional societies such as the Society of Abdominal Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, and Radiological Society of North America. Her research emphasizes gastrointestinal imaging advancements and procedural optimization.
