Lori D. Johnson is the Terry Pollman Professor of Law at the William S. Boyd School of Law, University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where she has been a faculty member since 2010. Her work bridges legal ethics, transactional law, and legal writing pedagogy.
Her research and teaching focus on the intersections of transactional legal practice, ethics, and rhetoric. She teaches Business Organizations, Professional Responsibility, Contract Drafting, and Legal Writing. Her scholarship explores professional responsibility, legal writing education, and the challenges of teaching law to diverse student populations, including first-generation law students.
Her recent publications and presentations reflect a strong engagement with legal education reform, particularly in legal writing and transactional skills training. She has contributed to discussions on best practices in legal ethics and innovative teaching methods in transactional law.

- Liberty Bell Award recipient (2025) from the Clark County Bar Foundation
Professor Johnson is actively involved in national legal education organizations. She was elected to and sworn in as a member of the Board of Directors of the Legal Writing Institute (LWI), where she also chaired the Program Committee for the Rocky Mountain Legal Writing Conference. She has served on panels at the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) and the Association of Legal Writing Directors (ALWD), focusing on teaching methods, transactional law skills, and supporting first-generation law students. She has collaborated with colleagues such as Benjamin Edwards, Mary Beth Beazley, and Rebecca Scharf on various academic initiatives.
She is a member of the Steering Committee and has held leadership roles in organizing major legal writing conferences, demonstrating her commitment to advancing the field of legal writing instruction and faculty status.
