Jan M. Levine is a distinguished legal educator serving as Director of the Legal Research & Writing Program at Duquesne University's Thomas R. Kline School of Law. With over 39 years of law school teaching experience, he has directed nationally-ranked legal writing programs at multiple institutions including Temple University, University of Arkansas, and University of Virginia. His educational background includes a J.D. from Boston University School of Law and a B.A. in Sociology from SUNY Albany, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
Levine's research focuses on:
- Innovative approaches to legal writing pedagogy and curriculum design
- Faculty development and status issues in legal education
- Appellate advocacy and statutory drafting methodologies
- Educational space planning and program administration
Levine has received the field's highest honors:
