Lori Bennear is the Stanback Dean of the Nicholas School of the Environment and Juli Plant Grainger Professor of Energy Economics and Policy at Duke University. She holds secondary appointments in the Sanford School of Public Policy and Department of Economics. Her research focuses on evaluating environmental policies, with an emphasis on regulatory effectiveness, strategic behavioral responses to policies, distributional impacts, and adaptive policy design. Bennear earned a Ph.D. in Public Policy from Harvard University, an M.A. in Economics from Yale, and a B.A. in Economics and Environmental Studies from Occidental College.
