Lorenzo Bernini is an Associate Professor in Political Philosophy at the University of Verona, Italy. He directs the Research Centre PoliTeSSE (Politics and Theories of Sexuality) and co-founded GIFTS (Gender, Intersex, Feminist, Transfeminist, and Sexuality Studies network). His research focuses on intersections between political philosophy, sexuality, queer theories, and critical race theory, with influences from Freud, Marx, Fanon, and Foucault.
He teaches modules such as Queer Philosophies, Political Philosophy and Sexuality, and Theories of Conflict across multiple degree programs. His work bridges classical modern philosophy with contemporary critical theory, emphasizing psychoanalytic frameworks to analyze power structures.
