Lolwa Alfadhel

Lolwa Alfadhel joined the University of Westminster in 2024 as a Lecturer in the Centre for Education and Teaching Innovation, with 17+ years of experience in higher education. She holds a PhD in Intellectual Property and Commercial Law, an LLM in Public International Law (Queen Mary University of London), and an LLB from the University of Westminster.

Her research focuses on Intellectual Property Law and International Trade Law, particularly trademark enforcement in the GCC region. Recent work includes a five-year research plan (2024–2029) addressing AI's impact on IP law, cross-jurisdictional enforcement, and digital marketplace commercial law evolution.

Her publications analyze counterfeit goods in transit, border measures, and TRIPS Agreement harmonization challenges. Key collaborations include roles at the Royal United Services Institute and LexisNexis.

Teaching innovations include student-partnership curriculum design and anti-racist educational frameworks. As Module Leader for Introduction to Academic Skills (3ACHE03FW), she emphasizes critical thinking and inclusivity for non-traditional students.
