Dr. Lois de Cruz is a Lecturer in Counselling at the Keele University School of Medicine. She holds a PhD from Keele University (2016) focused on women’s long-term perceptions of miscarriage using interpretative phenomenological analysis. Her research interests span qualitative methodologies, bereavement counselling, and reproductive loss. She has presented extensively on topics such as reflexivity in research, psychological impacts of miscarriage, and counselling practices for loss.
Education: PhD in Psychology (Keele University, 2016). Professional roles include Stream Lead for the Professional Counselling Training Route and Module Leader for PSY-40026 (Research Methods). She previously served as a research assistant on a transgender healthcare study (2012).
Research contributions include over a decade of conference presentations exploring reproductive health, qualitative research ethics, and patient narratives. Her work bridges academic inquiry and clinical practice, emphasizing the lived experiences of marginalized health concerns.
