Dr. Kate Diggory is a BACP-accredited Lecturer in Counselling at the School of Medicine, Keele University. Her work focuses on mindfulness, self-compassion, and end-of-life care, with expertise in qualitative research methodologies including reflexive thematic analysis and phenomenological approaches. She holds a PhD from the University of Chester, where her research explored self-compassion interventions for informal carers of terminally ill patients.
Her professional background includes roles in hospice counseling, bereavement services for children and families, and private practice. Diggory is affiliated with Keele’s Clinical Education Centre and collaborates with the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. Recent scholarly activities include presentations on carer self-care at national conferences (BACP, Keele Counselling Conference) and a 2023 preprint on healthcare professional training during social distancing measures.
