Nicole Knickmeyer

Dr. Nicole Knickmeyer serves as Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychological Science and Counseling at Austin Peay State University, where she is a Licensed Psychologist and Health Service Provider (HSP) maintaining an office in Clement Building, Room 205.

Her clinical and research expertise centers on critical psychological domains:

• Grief, bereavement, and traumatic loss
• End-of-life decision-making and palliative care systems
• Gender-based health disparities and women's mental health
• Intimate partner violence intervention and prevention
• Psychological integration within primary healthcare frameworks

Dr. Knickmeyer teaches specialized graduate courses including Death, Dying, and Bereavement (PSY 4010/5010), Couples and Family Counseling (COUN 5992), and supervised clinical practicum/internship sequences for Clinical Mental Health Counseling students.
