Liz Jansen

Liz Jansen is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Macalester College, teaching courses in neuroscience and human reproductive biology while actively directing academic programs and serving on key committees within the institution.

Her educational background includes:

• BA from the University of St. Thomas (1986)
• PhD from the University of Minnesota (1997)

Professor Jansen's research focuses on neural plasticity and regeneration mechanisms in animal models of ischemia and pain, alongside human reproductive biology and women's health applications. She integrates laboratory findings with clinical outreach through consulting work in neuroscience and women's biology.

She directs the Taylor Fellowship Program and Winter Mann-Hill Fellowship, serves as Director of The Olin-Rice Hub, and holds leadership roles including steering committee membership for Community and Global Health and neuroscience major programs, HPAC advising, and Academic Program Directorship for the Mayo Innovation Scholars Program.
