Dr. S. Lynn Jansen is the Interim Associate Dean (Academic) at the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Nursing. She holds a PhD from the Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing at Western University, alongside BSN and MN degrees from the University of Saskatchewan. Her work focuses on knowledge translation (KT) within implementation science, particularly co-creating KT strategies through relational interactions. She specializes in aging populations and Indigenous community health, using participatory methods like Pro-Action Café and systematic reviews.
Dr. Jansen’s teaching spans undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, emphasizing community health, leadership, and research methods. She has supervised graduate students in systematic review methodologies and supported their scholarly publication efforts. Her research has been funded through grants totaling over $1.2 million, including a CIHR-funded project on chronic kidney care in Indigenous communities and a collaboration with Harvard on fall prevention in long-term care.
She holds leadership roles on several committees, including the Saskatchewan Health Authority Research Ethics Board, Canadian Institutes of Health Research College of Reviewers, and the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan. Dr. Jansen is a certified Johanna Briggs Institute reviewer and actively contributes to evidence synthesis initiatives.
Her honors include the Western University Gold Medal and fellowships from CIHR and SSHRC. She advocates for interdisciplinary collaboration to improve healthcare equity and accessibility, particularly for marginalized populations.
