Professor Liwen Lin is an Associate Professor at the Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia. She holds an LLM and SJD from the University of Illinois, and a PhD in Sociology from Columbia University (Paul F. Lazarsfeld Fellow). Her research focuses on comparative corporate governance, corporate social responsibility (CSR), state capitalism, and Chinese law. She examines legal frameworks for CSR innovations like sustainability reporting, global supply chain codes, and mandatory CSR legislation. Her work also explores governance of China’s state-owned enterprises, executive compensation, and legal support for tech startups.
Education: LLM/SJD (UIUC), PhD in Sociology (Columbia University), MA/MPhil (Columbia University).
