Lise Parent is a Professor at TÉLUQ University since 1994, responsible for the undergraduate certificate program in environmental sciences. She has developed and taught eight distance learning courses (ENV 3015, ENV 3140, RIN 1110, ENV 3013, ENV 3111, ENV 3112, ENV 3012, ENV 4014) and is currently designing a ninth course (ENV 6009). She also contributes to the DESS program in international environment and the Bachelor of Science program.
Her educational background includes:
- Bachelor of Biological Sciences, University of Montreal (1979-1982)
- Master's degree in Environmental Sciences, University of Quebec in Montreal (1982-1985)
- Doctorate in Water Sciences, INRS-Eau, University of Quebec (1985-1992)
Dr. Parent's research centers on human and environmental exposure to endocrine disruptors and their contamination effects. Her expertise spans:
- Measurement and estimation of exposure pathways
- Aquatic ecotoxicology mechanisms
- Environmental risk assessment methodologies
- Sex and gender dimensions in environmental health
- Environmental hypersensitivity phenomena
- Ecosystem-based management approaches
She has authored five books, produced twelve instructional videos, and developed seven course-hosting learning sites. Collaborating with French and Quebec researchers, she is designing an international online graduate program in aquatic ecotoxicology.
Dr. Parent holds research affiliations with UQAM's CINBIOSE, CIRODD, and ÉcoBIM networks. She serves on scientific committees for VertigO and Haïti Perspectives journals, chairs the Réseau des femmes en environnement (RQFE) as vice-president (previously board chair 2003-2005), and holds leadership in Quebec Breast Cancer Action as vice-president of its board. She also provides expert consultation for multiple environmental health committees.
