Professor Lisa Whitehouse is a faculty member in the Law School at the University of Southampton. She serves as the Law School's REF2029 Outputs Co-ordinator and is affiliated with the People, Property, Community Research Centre. Her work focuses on property law, housing policy, and eviction mitigation strategies.

Her research explores the intersection of law and social policy in housing contexts, particularly during crises. Recent projects funded by abrdn Financial Fairness Trust (2022-2024) and ESRC (2021) examine housing debt communication systems and pandemic-era court adaptations in housing possession cases. She collaborates with institutions like the Ministry of Justice and Shelter to drive policy impact.
Lisa supervises undergraduate dissertations and PhD students, teaching modules in Land Law and Equity and Trusts. She was awarded Senior Fellowship by the Higher Education Academy in 2020 and received recognition for teaching excellence at the University of Hull in 2019.
