Lisa Warenski is an Affiliated Professor in the Department of Philosophy at The Graduate Center, CUNY, and a Research Associate in the Philosophy Department at the University of Connecticut. Her research spans theoretical and applied epistemology, philosophy of science, and logic, with a focus on organizational epistemic practices in financial services and business ethics. She holds a Ph.D. from The Graduate Center, CUNY (dissertation: The Epistemological Status of Logic, advised by Hartry Field), and a B.A. from Wellesley College.
Before academia, she worked as a corporate credit analyst and loan officer in New York City’s banking sector, informing her applied work. She teaches courses in logic and has been affiliated with CUNY since 2012, previously serving as faculty at City College of New York and Union College. Her publications address topics like epistemic norms, financial ethics, and a priori justification.
Her research interests include epistemic value, fallibilism, and the application of epistemological principles to organizational decision-making in finance. She actively engages in public philosophy and maintains an interdisciplinary approach to ethical and epistemic challenges in business contexts.
