McEvoy's work explores foundational epistemological questions, particularly the nature of a priori knowledge in mathematics, reliabilism, and the Gettier problem. He has also examined the epistemic implications of experimental mathematics and computational methods in philosophical contexts.
His publications between 2012–2018 span epistemology and philosophy of mathematics, with recurring themes such as reliabilism, the lottery problem, mathematical necessity, and the interplay between empirical evidence and a priori reasoning. These contributions have been featured in journals like Theoria, Synthese, and Philosophia Mathematica.
