Lisa Parks is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Biology at North Carolina State University (NCSU). She serves as Director of the Undergraduate Program in Biology (BS) and Coordinator of the Human Biology Concentration. Her roles include course development, teaching, and student advising/mentoring. She joined NCSU in 1999 after post-doctoral research at the Medical College of Georgia and prior teaching at Georgia State University.
Education:
- BS in Zoology, Duke University
- PhD in Biology, Georgia State University
Her research interests focus on membrane transport properties of heavy metals, while her educational efforts emphasize improving student engagement and community-building in STEM. She actively develops courses to enhance undergraduate learning experiences.
