Lisa Menegatos

Lisa Menegatos, Ph.D., is the Dean of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Honors College. She also holds the academic rank of Assistant Professor, teaching courses such as HON 101 (Honors Public Speaking), HON 206 (Interpersonal Communication within a Diverse Society), HON 440 (Gender, Sex, and Sexuality), and HON 498/499 (Honors Thesis/Project I/II).

Her research focuses on the interplay between substance abuse and personal relationships, particularly examining how interpersonal dynamics influence alcohol use, abuse, and dependence. She has spearheaded initiatives at the Honors College, including expanding thesis programs, establishing internships, and overseeing course offerings.

Prior to her role at UNLV, Menegatos was an Assistant Professor at Purdue University, Fort Wayne. She earned a Ph.D. in Health and Interpersonal Communication from Arizona State University, a Master's in Communication Studies from UNLV, and a Bachelor's in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University.
