Lisa G. Aspinwall

Dr. Lisa G. Aspinwall is Professor of Psychology at the University of Utah, specializing in social and health psychology. Her research examines how people anticipate and manage health threats through future-oriented thinking and proactive coping strategies. Current projects investigate psychological responses to predictive genetic testing for cancer and obesity at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and Comprehensive Weight Management Clinic.

She teaches courses including Social Psychology of Health & Illness and Advanced Social Psychology. Dr. Aspinwall mentors graduate students in health cognition research and welcomes PhD applicants interested in genetic risk perception and preventive health behaviors.
