Jessica Remedios

Jessica Remedios is Associate Professor of Psychology at Tufts University and Director of the Social Identity and Stigma Lab. She earned her PhD from University of Toronto in 2012.

Research Focus: Examines how people with multiple stigmatized identities are perceived and cope with prejudice. Integrates social cognition methods to study stereotype impact under identity complexity.

Key Contributions: Developed identity-threat models of discrimination attribution showing women of color anticipate both gender and racial bias from single cues. Revealed how multiracial categorization maintains racial hierarchies through proximity-to-whiteness judgments.
