Dr. Lisa Freeman is a Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences at Tufts University's Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and holds a secondary appointment at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. She specializes in veterinary nutrition, particularly its role in managing heart disease in animals. Her research focuses on nutrition's impact on cardiovascular health and cachexia/sarcopenia. Dr. Freeman teaches across all four years of the veterinary curriculum and leads the Residents’ Enhanced Veterinary Education and Academic Learning (REVEAL) Program. She is a Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionist and earned her DVM and PhD from Tufts. Her work emphasizes evidence-based nutritional care for pets with heart conditions.
