Dr. Sara E. Gonzalez is a Clinical Associate Professor and Section Head of Community Practice, General & Behavioral Medicine in the Department of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. She earned her DVM from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, along with an MS in Animal Science and BS in Animal Biology. She is board-certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Canine and Feline Practice.
Her research focuses on veterinary clinical practice, with emphasis on small animal medicine, community-based care, and behavioral interventions in companion animals. Dr. Gonzalez has progressed through academic ranks at Kansas State University and the University of Georgia, demonstrating expertise in both emergency medicine and primary care settings.
Dr. Gonzalez contributes to the Pet Health Center's clinical services and maintains active engagement in veterinary education through the university's DVM program.
