Lisa Collingwood is an Associate Professor of Law at Northeastern University London since 2023, serving as Course Leader for Law of Tort and Tort Extensions and Developments. She contributes to Equity and Trusts teaching and supervises dissertations. Her research focuses on technology law and privacy law, with notable publications in peer-reviewed journals like Information & Communications Technology Law. She co-edits the post-SLSA edition of this journal and holds roles as Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, affiliate member of Boston Law School, and Deputy Institutional Lead for AdvanceHE Fellowships.
Education includes a PhD (Kingston University, 2014), MA in Legal Studies (2007), Graduate Diploma in Law (2005), and BSc in Economics with Maths (1986). Prior to Northeastern, she was Senior Lecturer at Kingston University (2013–2023), teaching across tort law, criminal law, and technology law modules.
Research interests emphasize regulatory challenges in technology, privacy paradoxes, and socio-legal impacts of autonomous systems. Her work addresses topics like liability in smart devices, online anonymity, and ethical AI frameworks. She has presented at global conferences including the Socio-Legal Studies Association and Winchester TRILCon conferences.
As External Examiner in Law at the University of Salford and with editorial roles, she actively shapes legal education and scholarship. Her interdisciplinary focus bridges technical innovation and legal frameworks, contributing to debates on global technology governance.
