Maria Gagliardi

Maria Gagliardi is an Associate Professor of Private Law at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. She holds a PhD in Comparative Law from the University of Florence and teaches Insurance Law at the University of Pisa, Department of Economics.

Her research spans insurance law (medical malpractice, new risks), privacy and data protection (non-pecuniary damages, anonymized data), and family law (child protection, gender identity). She applies economic tools to legal analysis and contributes to international conferences.

Her recent publications highlight intersections between private law and ICT, medical law, and comparative legal frameworks. She has edited volumes on financial markets and authored case commentaries on data protection and auto liability.
