Lisa Buckler is a Lecturer in Education at McDaniel College, specializing in Early Childhood Education. She developed the university's first Early Childhood Education major and teaches courses including RDS 544 (Early Literacy Intervention) and RDS 554 (Literacy Leadership for Reading Professionals). Buckler earned her M.S. from McDaniel's Reading Specialist program in 2006.
Her research focuses on literacy instruction, early childhood development, and preparing educators to address social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of young learners. She advocates for equity, developmentally appropriate practice, and play-based learning in early childhood settings.
Outside academia, she enjoys gardening and travels to national parks with her family.
