Dr. Christina M. Budde is an Assistant Professor in the School of Education at the University of Delaware. Her expertise focuses on literacy and language education, particularly supporting multilingual learners in early childhood and elementary settings. She holds a Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning from the University of Maryland (2020), an M.S. in TESOL/Bilingual Education from McDaniel College (2005), and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Shippensburg University (2001).
Her research emphasizes effective instructional strategies for diverse classrooms, including peer learning and evidence-based literacy practices. She coordinates the Multilingual Learner Teacher Education program, ensuring future educators are equipped to address linguistic and cultural diversity. Dr. Budde teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on literacy, language development, and multilingual education.
Prior roles include Project Manager at the University of Maryland’s Center for Early Childhood Education and Intervention (CECEI) and ESOL Instructor at the Community College of Baltimore County. Her professional development workshops focus on micro-practices for language and literacy instruction aligned with the science of reading.
