Kerry Carley-Rizzuto is an Associate Professor and Early Childhood P-3 MEd Program Director in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Monmouth University. With extensive experience as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, and administrator, her research focuses on developing social justice dispositions in pre-service teachers, culturally responsive pedagogy, literacy development, and early childhood education.
She teaches courses in literacy instruction, early childhood development, and educational research. Her publications examine literacy strategies for English Language Learners, culturally responsive teaching practices, and parent-child reading interventions.
Professional Expertise
Former roles include Reading Recovery teacher, K-12 Reading Specialist, and school administrator in New York and New Jersey. She holds a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant certification and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Rowan University.
