Linsey Robb is a social and cultural historian of warfare affiliated with Northumbria University's Department of History, College of Arts. She holds a PhD from the University of Strathclyde and an MSc in Social History from the University of Glasgow. Her research focuses on civilian experiences of modern warfare, particularly British conscientious objectors during WWII and the cultural representation of civilian masculinities in wartime contexts.
She leads the AHRC-funded project 'We say no!: British Conscientious Objection in the Second World War' (2023–2024), and supervises four postgraduate research students. Her work bridges oral history methodology with interdisciplinary approaches to military and civilian dynamics.
Key achievements include publications in Cultural and Social History, Journal of War and Culture Studies, and monographs analyzing humor in WWII propaganda and post-war cultural memory. She previously taught at Teesside University and contributed to the 'Masculinities Challenged?' oral history project.
