Dr. Lingxia Zhou is a Lecturer in Chinese and Confucius Institute Teaching Lead at Lancaster University's School of Global Affairs within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. She previously taught at Princeton University (including its Beijing program), Waseda University, SOAS, and Beijing Normal University. Her research focuses on language policy, sociolinguistic attitudes, and pedagogical methodologies, with a regional emphasis on East Asia.
She teaches advanced Chinese language courses (written/oral skills at B1 to C2 levels) and coordinates academic programs like DELC200/300 for employability and translation studies. Zhou supervises PhD research in language policy, pedagogy, and TCSL (Teaching Chinese as a Second Language), particularly examining sociolinguistic intersections.
A member of professional bodies including the American Association for Applied Linguistics and British Chinese Language Teaching Society, her recent work includes a 2024 book review analyzing language rights in China's Zhuang region. She holds a strong record of international teaching experience across multiple institutions.
