Ling Lin is an Assistant Professor affiliated with the Department of Medicine Division of Nephrology and the Department of Cell and Biological Systems. Her research focuses on the pathogenesis and therapeutics of tissue fibrosis and inflammation, particularly through molecular mechanisms of tPA and LRP-1 signaling in renal fibrogenesis.
- Education: MS (1999) and MD (1997) from Nanjing University Medical School
- External Position: Member of the American Society of Nephrology since 2008
Dr. Lin investigates cell-cell communication, oxidative stress, and annexin A2-mediated pathways in fibrosis and inflammation. She develops therapies targeting these mechanisms and mentors graduate students, postdocs, and visiting scholars.
Her recent publications highlight studies on tPA signaling in kidney disease, p90RSK's role in epithelial transdifferentiation, and extracellular vesicles in cancer. These works span molecular biology, nephrology, and immunology, contributing to understanding fibrosis and inflammation.
Dr. Lin's research aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goal of Good Health and Well-being, focusing on innovative approaches to kidney disease and cancer.
