Previously, she held postdoctoral positions at the University of Oxford and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
- Research focuses on bacterial cell division, DNA organization, and single-molecule fluorescence microscopy.
- Teaching specializations: laboratory-based active learning in biochemistry and biomedicine.
Her recent work analyzes molecular mechanisms of DNA segregation using multidisciplinary techniques. She has contributed to understanding protein self-organization in plasmid partitioning and bacterial chromosome dynamics.
Scientific Awards:
- Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA)
She has supervised multiple PhD and undergraduate students and secured research grants from the Royal Society, Biochemical Society, and BBSRC. Her laboratory-based teaching methods are integrated with active learning strategies.
