Dr. Lindsey Buster serves as Senior Lecturer in Prehistoric Archaeology within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Education at Canterbury Christ Church University and leads the funerary archaeology component of the ERC-funded COMMIOS Project based at the University of York.
Her academic qualifications include:
- BSc, University College London (2003-2006)
- MA, University of York (2006-2007)
- PhD, University of Bradford (2009-2012) specializing in Iron Age roundhouses in Scotland
Research focuses on Prehistoric Archaeology through interdisciplinary analysis of funerary practices and Iron Age societies, employing osteological assessment, stable isotope studies, and ancient DNA to investigate population dynamics, connectivity, and mobility across Iron Age Britain and the Near Continent.
Prior roles encompass post-doctoral research (2014-2018) on the ENTRANS, Sculptor’s Cave, and Continuing Bonds projects at the University of Bradford, followed by a Teaching Fellowship in European Iron Age Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh (2018-2019).
