Michael Legge

Dr. Michael Legge is a Research Fellow in the Department of Archaeology at the University of York, working on the ERC-funded COMMIOS project led by Professor Ian Armit. His research focuses on Iron Age mortuary practices in Britain, combining archaeology, osteology, ancient DNA, and stable isotope analysis to explore population dynamics and regional identities.

Education: BA (Hons) and MA from Cardiff University (2014–2015), followed by a PhD (2021) funded by the AHRC. His doctoral research investigated Iron Age mortuary treatment in eastern Britain using multi-disciplinary approaches.
