Lindsay Shea, DrPH, MS, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Management and Policy at Drexel University's Dornsife School of Public Health. She serves as Director of the Policy and Analytics Center at the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute. Her work focuses on leveraging research methodologies to inform social and health policies, particularly regarding autism spectrum disorder, neurodevelopmental conditions, and healthcare equity.
Education: DrPH in Health Policy (Drexel University), MS in Social Policy (University of Pennsylvania), BA in Psychology (Susquehanna University).
Research interests include neurodevelopmental disorders, mental/behavioral health, and healthcare policy with an emphasis on marginalized populations. She leads projects analyzing Medicaid data to address disparities in access to services for autistic individuals, particularly during adolescence and adulthood transitions.
Recent work highlights include studies on autism policy implementation, Medicaid waiver impacts, vaccine hesitancy among autistic adults, and racial inequities in healthcare utilization. Her team developed tools like the Periodic Risk Evaluation to link autistic adults to needed services.
Key contributions involve bridging research-practice gaps through embedded research approaches, advocating for cross-system collaboration in criminal justice and healthcare settings, and advancing global surveillance frameworks for autism that prioritize social determinants of health.
