Associate Professor Linda Westphalen holds a prominent role at the University of Adelaide's School of Education within the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics. With 35 years of teaching experience, she has led key administrative roles including Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching (2018–2020), Deputy Dean for Faculty of Arts (2020–2022), and Associate Dean, Curriculum (2022–2023). Her research focuses on the intersection of teacher accreditation and 21st-century learning demands, inspired by Paulo Freire's work on cultural agency in education.
Teaching & Research: Current teaching areas include culture/diversity inclusion, pedagogy, and student safety. She pioneered the School's Master of Teaching program and has contributed to curriculum development across disciplines. Research interests emphasize teacher professional identity amidst accreditation pressures and future-oriented educational practices.
