Kayoko Enomoto is an Associate Professor and Deputy Dean (People & Culture) in the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics at the University of Adelaide. She previously served as Head of the Department of Asian Studies (2018–2024) and Associate Dean (Student Experience) (2018–2024). With over 30 years of teaching Japanese in the UK and Australia, her expertise spans higher education leadership, language pedagogy, and curriculum innovation.
- Affiliations: School of Social Sciences, University of Adelaide; Honorary Co-director of the Institute for Learning in Higher Education (LiHE).
- Committees: Member of the Multicultural Education and Languages Committee (MELC), Languages and Cultures Network for Australian Universities (LCNAU).
- Editorial Roles: Editor-in-Chief of the Learning in Higher Education Series (Libri Publishing) and Editorial Board member of LCNAU Studies in Languages and Cultures (ANU Press).
Her research focuses on student diversity, flexible learning technologies (including GenAI), and curriculum design. She has published extensively on teaching innovations and led numerous grants, including projects on active learning and international student support.
Kayoko’s awards include the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Excellence (2021) and multiple teaching accolades for her student-centered approaches. She co-leads an international research community of 16,000+ academics through LiHE, promoting learning-centered education globally.
