Linda Sormin is an Associate Professor of Studio Art in the Department of Art and Art Professions at New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Her practice focuses on vulnerability, upheaval, and change through sculpture and site-responsive installation. She has exhibited work globally, including at Wuchangshuo Memorial Hall (Shanghai), Jogja National Museum (Indonesia), Bluecoat Art Gallery (UK), and Entrée Gallery (Norway).
Her research contributions include a chapter in the edited volume Contemporary Clay and Museum Culture (Routledge, 2019). She has also been a keynote speaker at international conferences like Restating Clay and Clay Matters. Sormin is affiliated with NYU Steinhardt’s Studio Art program, which emphasizes contemporary art practice through MFA and BFA degree offerings.
