Prof. Linda Senden is a Professor of EU Law at Utrecht University's School of Law. She holds the chair in EU Law and co-directs the RENFORCE research programme on shared regulation and enforcement in Europe. Her work focuses on the institutional and constitutional dimensions of EU law, regulatory frameworks, and transnational governance. She is also director of the LL.M programme in European Law and teaches courses including European constitutional law and judicial enforcement mechanisms.
Education:法学博士 (Tilburg University, 2003), Dutch law (University of Amsterdam, 1996), International Law & European Studies (University of Amsterdam, 1992).
Research emphasizes legitimacy/effectiveness of EU integration, interaction between EU and national legal systems, and gender equality law. She has held visiting professorships at 8+ international universities including University of Michigan and National University of Singapore.
Leadership roles include co-director of RENFORCE, member of Utrecht Law Department Research Board, and board member of 'Trust, Citizenship and Democracy' (IOS pillar). Editor for Utrecht Law Review, NTER, and European Gender Equality Law Review.
Expert activities: EU integration advisor to Dutch government (AIV), European Commission's Equality Network Executive Committee, and steering committee for EU Co/Self-regulation initiatives. Conducted high-profile studies for European Parliament on soft law instruments and gender balance directives.
