Linda Keeler, EdD, is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Kinesiology at Western Washington University. Her expertise focuses on Sport and Exercise Psychology, with a specialization in mental health interventions, mindfulness in sports, and physical activity promotion. She holds degrees from Colgate University (B.A., Psychology), the University of Maryland (M.A., Counseling), and West Virginia University (M.A., Counseling; Ed.D., Sport & Exercise Psychology).
Dr. Keeler teaches core courses including KIN 320: Psychology of Sport and KIN 551: Applied Sport Psychology. Her research emphasizes practical applications of psychological theories to improve athletic performance and mental health outcomes, particularly among student-athletes and university populations. She co-directs the Center for Performance Excellence, focusing on optimizing human potential through evidence-based strategies.
Her publications (2016–2021) explore topics like peer-led interventions for depression, mindfulness in basketball performance, and burnout prevention in athletes. Notable works include quasi-experiments using physical activity as mental health treatment and gender studies in sport psychology.
