Dr. Linda Froese is a Research Fellow in Educational Psychology at the Institute for Educational Science, Ruhr University Bochum. She holds a PhD (Dr. phil.) in Educational Science from Ruhr University Bochum (April 2024), a Master of Arts in Educational Science from the University of Cologne (2019), and a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Science from the same university (2017). Her research focuses on metacognitive judgment accuracy, monitoring and regulation, and the application of standards in self-assessment processes. She collaborates with Prof. Dr. Julian Roelle and other researchers on studies exploring generative learning, retrieval practice, and self-regulated learning in online education.
Her work examines how educational interventions, such as rubrics and example-based learning, enhance learners' ability to evaluate their own work. Recent studies highlight the role of standards in dissimilar-solution tasks and the temporal sequence of learning strategies. Froese’s research has been published in journals like Learning and Instruction and Metacognition and Learning, as well as conference proceedings such as the International Conference of the Learning Sciences (ICLS).
She contributes to the Generative Drawing & Retrieval Practice and Combination of Knowledge Construction and Retrieval Exercise research projects. Consultation hours are arranged via email. Her ORCID is 0000-0002-3697-5710, and she maintains profiles on ResearchGate and Google Scholar.
