Linda Bellen

Dr. Linda Bellen is a Lecturer and Early Childhood Coordinator at the University of Notre Dame Australia's School of Education, Sydney Campus. She holds a PhD from Notre Dame, Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood, Distinction) from Western Sydney University, Bachelor of Science (UNSW), Montessori Diploma, Associate Diploma in Social Science, and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Her research examines:

• Transition to formal schooling and pedagogic continuity
• Phenomenographic approaches to teacher mentoring
• Mathematics readiness in teacher education
• Play-based pedagogy across school transitions

She leads two active research projects on professional learning for early years teachers and mathematics readiness perceptions, funded by $6000 in institutional grants. Current PhD supervisions include five candidates studying early childhood education dynamics.
