Lidia León-Blázquez is a Lecturer in Foreign Languages Spanish and the 0300 Coordinator at the University of Pennsylvania. She is affiliated with the Department of Hispanic & Portuguese Studies within the School of Arts and Sciences. Her academic background includes a PhD in Spanish Literature from Stony Brook University (2007 onward at Penn) and a BA in Art History and Aesthetics from the University of Seville (Spain).
Her research focuses on contemporary Spanish women’s narrative, feminist theory, intellectual history, and cultural studies with emphases on national identities and ethnicity. She teaches advanced literature seminars, cultural history, language courses, and medical Spanish at the Perelman School of Medicine. She has directed undergraduate honors theses and participated in Penn’s summer abroad programs in Spain.
Lidia has collaborated with the Lauder Institute, leading immersion trips to Cuba and Colombia, and serves on MA/MBA graduation committees. She has received teaching Excellence Awards from both Penn and Stony Brook.
