Libby McFalls

Libby McFalls is a Professor in the Department of Art at Columbus State University, where she also serves as the Art Foundation Coordinator. She is affiliated with the College of Arts and Humanities and is actively engaged in teaching and artistic research. Additionally, she holds a leadership role as VP of Communications for Foundations of Art: Theory & Education.

Her educational background includes an MFA in Printmaking from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a BFA in Fine Arts from Columbus College of Art & Design.

Libby’s research and artistic practice focus on nonlinear visual narratives that explore the complexities of family, loss, identity, and motherhood. Her work blurs boundaries between personal and public life, integrating elements of daily experience, collaboration with her children, and responses to social and political issues. She uses printmaking, hybrid collages, and symbolic abstraction to interrogate the role of women in art and society, challenging traditional representations of domestic life.
