Dr. Lianfeng Zhao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clemson University’s College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (2019) from Princeton University, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering (2014) from Tsinghua University, and a B.E. in Electrical Engineering (2012) from Xidian University.
His research focuses on the development of next-generation optoelectronic devices and systems using emerging thin-film materials such as metal halide perovskites, organic semiconductors, and nanostructured quantized matter. These technologies aim to address limitations in silicon-based optoelectronics and enable breakthroughs in lighting, displays, communication, computing, sensing, and renewable energy applications.
Dr. Zhao’s work has been recognized by prestigious awards, including:
- Princeton Wallace Memorial Honorific Fellowship
- Princeton School of Engineering and Applied Science Award for Excellence
He actively recruits postdoctoral scholars, Ph.D. students, and undergraduate interns with backgrounds in Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry.
