Dr. Huijuan Zhao is a Professor and Graduate Program Director in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Clemson University's College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences (CECAS). She holds the Stanzione Professorship and leads the Computational Mechanics and Materials Lab (CMML). Her academic journey includes progression from Assistant Professor (2012-2018) to Associate Professor (2018-2024) and finally to full Professor in 2024.
Dr. Zhao's educational background includes:

Dr. Zhao's research focuses on computational materials science and mechanics, with particular emphasis on multi-scale/multi-physics modeling of nanostructured materials. She investigates computational nano-mechanics, material design and characterization, surface/interface properties in composites, and material theory development.
